What catches the rain and the eye of those who pass by?  People living in Knox County now know the answer -- an artistic rain barrel.  The Water Quality Forum will be kicking off off its Third Annual Rainy Day Brush-Off event in the spring of 2010.  Local artists have graciously volunteered to create beautiful works of art on 55-gallon rain barrels to help the Water Quality Forum raise awareness about water conservation and water pollution.  To date the Water Quality Forum has engaged regional artists in the creation of 57 unique rain barrels and through the sale of these rain barrels raised thousands of dollars in support of our on the ground outreach, education and conservation efforts.  We are looking forward to 2010 being the most successful year yet partnering with the Knoxville Museum of Art to host 30 new works of art that will no doubt be a diverse and compelling feat for the eyes and spirit.

Wanna see more?  Please visit our website to see the barrels and learn more about the program.    You can also vote for your favorite barrel and place bids to take one (or more) home with you at the conclusion of the Knoxville Musesum of Art (KMA) Exhibition.

Catch the rain, don't let it go down the drain!
