Bat Box Workshop

October 19 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$25

Join experts from TVA and TWRA to learn about the bat population in East Tennessee and the benefits that bats provide to our community. Following a presentation, participants will build their own Bat Conservation International-certified, single chamber bat house to take home. This workshop is part of the Farragut Wonderful Wildlife initiative, which encourages natural habitats for birds, bees, butterflies, and bats. The Town hopes to achieve a Community Wildlife Habitat™ certification through the National Wildlife Federation, and certifying individual properties helps the Town progress towards this goal. Certification for a single property requires a source of food, water, cover, a place for wildlife to raise their young, and sustainable practices. By building a bat box, you can help the town get closer to this goal.

The workshop will take place in the Farragut Town Hall Community Room on Saturday, October 19th. Pre-registration is required. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, October 16th. Sign-up at townoffarragut.org under the “I Want To…” tab. $25 is required for each bat box built. Limit of 10 attendees.
