Cheers to Clean Water: Clean-Up Presented by the Water Quality Forum

Join us for the 7th Annual Cheers to Clean Water Float and Cleanup on Saturday June 14th, 2025, presented by the Water Quality Forum!

DESCRIPTION:

Cleanup:

Come participate in a float down the river while removing litter, joining the City of Knoxville’s Waste & Resources Management Office, Knoxville Stormwater, Ijams Nature Center, Knox County Stormwater, City of Oak Ridge Stormwater, UT Extension, and Keep Knoxville Beautiful. This is a FREE event with free kayaks provided by Ijams Nature Center and River Sports Outfitters on a first come, first serve basis. (ALL KAYAKS HAVE BEEN RESERVED- Feel free to bring your own or join the waitlist.)

The cleanup will start at the Ijams River Landing.

Celebration:

Once off the water, we invite you to join us at the Ijams Visitor Center (2915 Island Home Ave, Knoxville) for a cookout celebration. Drinks provided by Printshop Beer Co. and Hi-Wire Brewing.

Donations are welcome but not required to participate in the celebration, and will go to benefit next year’s WaterFest, the Water Quality Forum’s largest annual education event. This year, WaterFest welcomed over 1000 area elementary students, introducing them to water science concepts and engaging them in fun, hands-on activities that teach them about their local water resources and how to protect them. Donations can help “Send a Kid to WaterFest,” allowing us to cover the only cost barrier to the schools: transportation.

THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT.
