The Knox County Soil Conservation District proudly hosted the 11th annual Farmer’s Banquet on October 22nd. Larry Tankersly, UT Forestry Extension Specialist, was the guest speaker and he gave a talk on current forestry practices in Tennessee. The Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts poster contest winners were announced and awarded their prizes. Finally, Dr. Nathan Butler was announced as the Conservation Farmer of the Year, and Megan Allen announced as the Conservation Innovator for the year. This was all possible with help from, Knox County NRCS field office, our board of supervisors, Knox County Stormwater Management, the Water Quality Forum, and numerous donors!
